Sea Trail To Host U. S. Open Qualifier May 16
Sunset Beach, N.C. (PRWEB) April 20, 2006 -- Sea Trail Golf Resort & Conference Center, located in Sunset Beach, N.C. will be the site of the Carolinas Golf Association’s local event for those seeking to qualify for the United States Open Golf Tournament. The U. S. Open qualifier will be held May 16 on The Jones Course at Sea Trail.

Open qualifier,” said Tom Plankers, President of Golf at Sea Trail Resort & Conference Center. “A very talented field of players is expected to attempt to qualify here, and we’re preparing the Jones course to give them a tough, but fair test.”
Staged by the U. S. Golf Association (USWGA) every June, the U. S. Open is one of the four major championships on the official schedules of the PGA TOUR and the PGA European Tour. Open courses are set up to put a premium on accurate driving and to challenge the ability of even the best golfers to score.
Sea Trail is the only course along the Grand Strand to be tapped to host a U. S. Open local qualifier. The qualifier is conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association (www.carolinasgolf.org) and the maximum handicap index for participants is 1.4.
